Miajavon Coleman Named MEAC Volleyball Preseason Player of the Year
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Miajavon Coleman was named the MEAC Volleyball Preseason Player of the Year, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.  Additionally, the Eagles were picked to finish third in the league's Predicted Order of Finish which was voted on by the MEAC's eight head coaches and sports information directors.

Baseball Receives Fifth-Straight ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the fifth-straight season, Coppin State's baseball team has been named a recipient of the American baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced by the organization last week. To be eligible for the award, teams must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during the 2021-22 academic year.

Volleyball Announces 2022 Season Schedule
BALTIMORE – Featuring three home matches against local schools, the 2022 Coppin State volleyball schedule was announced by head coach Tim Walsh on Monday afternoon.  The Eagles will host Loyola University Maryland on August 30 before welcoming American University on September 6 and UMBC on September 20 before opening conference play at home against South Carolina State.

Women's Track's Cathryn Lane Named MEAC Woman of the Year
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has named Cathryn Lane from Coppin State University as the 2022 Woman of the Year, the conference office announced.

Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Programs; Select Athletes Honored for Academic Success
NEW ORLEANS – Coppin State's men's and women's track & field programs were both named All-Academic Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced by the organization on Wednesday evening.  To be eligible for All-Academic consideration, the team must have accumulated at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Tennis Honored by ITA for Academic Success; Receives USTA David Dinkins HBCU Coaching Grant
TEMPE, Ariz. – Coppin State's men's and women's teams were both named 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I All-Academic Teams, it was announced by the ITA on Monday afternoon.  To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, the program must have at least a 3.2 team grade point average for the academic year.

Bowling Honored by NTCA for Academic Prowess
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Coppin State's bowling program has been recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team, it was announced by the organization on Wednesday.  Teams must have recorded at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average for the academic year to be eligible for consideration.

Former Baseball Standout Marcos Castillo Named to USPBL All-Star Team
UTICA, Mich. – Former Coppin State outfielder Marcos Castillo has been named to the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL) All-Star Team, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Castillo was drafted to play for Team Drue in the All-Star Game which will be played on Saturday, July 9, thirty minutes after the conclusion of the Home Run Derby which starts at 5:30 pm.
