Alcohol Abuse and other Addictions in the Inner City and Other Communities

An introduction to problems of alcohol abuse in an urban environment, with special emphasis on those who are outside the mainstream of American life. Included are a study of sociological, psychological, and economic factors accompanying alcohol abuse, an analysis of the extent and distribution n the inner city, and research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of alcohol abuse and other addictions. Prerequisite: PSYC 201
